Suzanne: Partner & Parent
Suzanne is first and foremost a partner and a parent. As the mother of adult sons, she and her husband have experienced, and are still experiencing, the joys and challenges of parenthood. There has never been a dull moment with the boys, since children are constantly changing, growing, and facing new and different challenges. Just when one stage of parenting ends, the next often takes center stage with little warning. Just when we think we have mastered one stage we often find ourselves catapulted into another. However, at the heart of their family is the ever-present desire to grow and learn together, build family traditions, and be involved in the faith communities and organizations in their town.
Suzanne: Supporting Children, Families, and Communities
For four decades, Suzanne has devoted her life – outside her own family – to children, families, and the communities in which they find themselves. During her past years as an early childhood educator and later as a director, she developed a strong belief that education of children is most successful when educators build healthy, meaningful relationships and strong partnerships with families. Her Masters’ Degree at Wheelock College in Boston specialized in parent education and family support. This education has dramatically influenced her work with children and families.
Suzanne: Professional Development Facilitator
Suzanne grew up in Australia. She completed an MA in psychology and early childhood education at Macquarie University in Sydney. After college she worked as an early childhood teacher and was the founding director of an early childhood center. She moved to the USA with her husband in 1987. Since completing an MSC at Wheelock College she has been a parent educator, family support specialist, and professional development facilitator in the Boston area. For 20 years she has been researching and designing workshops for parents of young children, early childhood teachers, family day care providers, and school age professionals.
Innovative, research-based approach to hands-on learning (both online and in-person) for early childhood educators, after school professionals and parents using unconventional methods and novel materials.
